MMFF to stream movie entries in December

Manila Times — 24.10.2020

By November then, Globe’s GMovies platform, which has long been functioning as a more convenient way to purchase tickets to movies and concerts pre-pandemic, will serve as the 46th MMFF’s lone box office where, in this case, patrons will purchase a streaming code per movie. They will then use this code to view their movie of choice on the Upstream application which will soon be available for download for both android and iOS devices.

“What’s even better about this edition of the MMFF is that OFWs (Overseas Filipino Workers) who cannot come home for Christmas will also get to see the MMFF entries as soon as they’re released for the first time,” Lim noted in Filipino.

His office further cited that given the steep cost of movie tickets as of late—the reason for dwindling box office sales and the worsening predicament of local movie producers—more Filipinos should be able to afford watching all eight MMFF entries this year since a single purchase of P250 will allow an entire family to stream a movie together.
