By Manila Bulletin Entertainment — 30.09.19

Film outfit TBA Studios behind the hits “Heneral Luna,” “Goyo” and “Birdshot” has signed with PR firm PublicityAsia to lead its worldwide branding, marketing and communications.

The deal includes the development and execution of data-driven, creative campaigns to solidify the studios’ reputation of producing high quality films that offer Filipino audiences an alternative from traditional selections, increasing its fan base, working on studio branding and staying current on the OTT and user acquisition landscape, growth trends, best practices, and competitor strategies to serve as the subject matter expert on growth and business development.

PublicityAsia founder Joyce A. Ramirez thanked TBA heads Eduardo Rocha, Vincent Nebrida and Fernando Ortigas in a statement.

“I am thrilled and honored to work and learn alongside industry legends whom I admire and respect,” said Ramirez. “Ed (Buchi Boy Entertainment) has been a steadfast supporter and believer of my body of work and discipline since we first worked together in the film ‘Bonifacio’ in 2014.”

PublicityAsia was contracted to Sony Pictures Entertainment Network in Singapore for a decade, handling the PR of SPE channels AXN and ANIMAX from 2004 to 2014.

The agency is known for pioneering the trend of bringing in foreign celebrities to Manila and signing them for deals and projects and has worked with top tier agencies CAA, WME and ICM. It is the lead PR agency of TV5 Network and led the worldwide promo of Cignal Entertainment’s “Ang Babaeng Allergic Sa WiFi” on Netflic. Publicity Asia actively supports the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Meanwhile, TBA Studios recently announced its new rom-comedy “Write About Love” topbilled by Miles Ocampo, Rocco Nacino, Joem Bascon and singer Yeng Constantino in her first major screen role. The film is set for release by year’s end.
